I am astonished to find that I really am <\/em>getting some “Frequently Asked Questions”. So, here goes:<\/p>\n

  1. You refer to OLQ a lot. What the heck is that?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    OLQ is “Our Little Quad”. Back in 2000, four nuts formed a group marriage. We went online to try to find other people that made group marriages work in the long term. There weren’t any putting a lot of polyamory information out there for the form of relationship we were looking for, so we formed a mailing list to try to find some that maybe didn’t want to have a website.<\/p>\n

    In a fit of goofiness, one of us started referring to the family as “Our Little Quad” (Knowing my tendency to come up with stupid names that wind up sticking, it was probably me, but I wouldn’t testify to that in court).<\/p>\n

    The mailing list got real big, and we started a website (http:\/\/www.polyfamilies.com<\/a>) to put information out there as we learned stuff.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    1. Why don’t you still write for PolyFamilies?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The family broke up in 2005 and I stopped writing for the poly community for what I thought was forever. A dear friend pointed out that if I loved it so much (and I do) there was no harm in continuing the writing. I started this iteration of the Polyamorous Misanthrope at the end of Feb 2007, continuing a column I’d been writing on PolyFamilies a couple of years before.<\/p>\n

      But I’d turned over my role in the PolyFamilies org to my ex wife, and didn’t choose to ask for my old role back. I don’t think that would have been a problem, but I didn’t really want to continue writing for Poly Families<\/em> per se, but branch out with stuff more relevant to how I’m living now, and things I have learned. I’m still connected with the org and still shoot off at the mouth on the mailing list on a fairly regular basis.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

      1. If your group marriage failed doesn’t that mean you don’t think group marriage can work?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Well, how many people that divorce do you know that remarry? I think it most certainly can work. I also think it takes more maturity, compatibility and understanding than the four of OLQ had at that time in our lives. (And I don’t think the compatibility issue could have been solved, even if<\/em> we’d been mature and understanding enough).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

        1. Are you free to speak at conventions\/conferences and all that? <\/strong>(Okay, I admit it, no-one has actually<\/em> asked me this, but I’ll put it out there).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Very much so. I love to travel and I’m a computer instructor (among other things) in Real Life. That kind of thing is just part of my day. Email me and we’ll talk!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
