You all know how disease vectors work.  If your partner is exposed to an STD, then you and everyone you&#8217;re involved with is also exposed, right?  You understand risk reduction and all that smack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Disease vectors are old hat for polyamorous people<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, during the current pandemic, we&#8217;re dealing with a disease that&#8217;s a <em>lot<\/em> easier to catch than most STDs.   Instead of needing really intimate (usually fluid) contact, this is more like *wince* (I hate to use this metaphor) a bukakke party that no-one asked your consent for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know, gross, but still.  If you&#8217;ve educated yourself at all on STDs and harm reduction, you have a general idea of why social distancing and other safety protocols are needed to be flattening the infection curve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use that knowledge and understanding to help people around you. Maybe don&#8217;t use that bukkake metaphor with Aunt Edna.  However, you do understand the principles and can use your knowledge in a wider range now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I gotta say, video dates ain&#8217;t the same in-person dates and it&#8217;s makin&#8217; me twitchy.   I&#8217;m sure it is for all of you as well.  Still, we&#8217;re tough.
